City Park Updates

One of the many benefits of living in Perrysburg is the convenience of having 11 parks within the city limits. Much work has been going on during the Fall, Winter and Spring months to get them ready for the busy summer ahead. Here are some highlights:

Three Meadows Park – The pond erosion project was completed last summer, making it a beautiful place to relax by the water or paddle in a canoe or kayak. If you are interested in renting a rack for your canoe or kayak, check with the Department of Public Service at 419-872-8020 to see if there are any available (racks are also available for rent at Orleans Park). Mark your calendars for the first Saturday in June for the annual Fishing Derby at Three Meadows Pond.

Municipal Park - The City of Perrysburg’s Summer Recreation Program takes place at Municipal Park. It is also the location of the City Pool, which is run by the YMCA. Click here for information about purchasing pool passes. Last Fall, crews put a fresh coat of paint on the swimming pool, and the concession area and restrooms were remodeled. The park will have new playground equipment which is scheduled to be ready for children by the end of June.

Woodlands Park – This summer, Woodlands Park will have a new inclusive playground. Installation is scheduled to be completed by the end of June. City crews have trimmed all of the park’s trees, to help improve their health. The Wednesday at Woodlands Music Series will be back this year, featuring musicians during the lunch hour every Wednesday from June through August. Don’t forget to check out the 18-hole disc golf course or the 2022-2023 Sculpture Walk.

Bicentennial Park – Located on Mark Lane, Bicentennial is a quiet neighborhood park that is mostly used by walkers and joggers. The park will have new playground equipment this summer.

Hood Park – This park is the perfect place to relax and view or dock your boat on the Maumee River. It’s also where the Perrysburg War Memorials and the bronze statue of Commodore Oliver Hazard Perry, the City's namesake, are located. This year, the park will have a new ADA compliant canoe and kayak launch.

Orleans Park – The gravel parking lot located at the front of the park off Maumee Western Reserve Road was paved last year and curb islands were added. This park is an excellent location for fishing on the Maumee River. There is plenty of parking as well as fishing access, jet ski or small boat launch, canoe and kayak storage racks, and a walking path along the river which connects to Fort Meigs State Memorial.

Rotary Community Park – The newest feature of this park is the eight new pickleball courts which recently opened for play. The park also features tennis courts, an inclusive playground and walking paths. New park benches were added near the playground and the parking lot has been repaved. City crews also added drainage tiles in the rugby field to improve conditions.

Shelter Rentals - New this year, rentals for park shelters can now be made on the City’s website. Shelters can be reserved at Woodlands, Rotary, Three Meadows, and Rivercrest Parks. The fee is $50 for residents or community social groups and $75 for non-residents or non-community groups. A $100 refundable security deposit is required.
