City Administration

Under the direction of the Mayor, the City Administrator is the chief administrative officer of the City, and is in charge of and responsible for supervising over all City Departments and other City operations and exercises all administrative authority unless otherwise specified by the Charter.

About the City Administrator:

The current City Administrator is Joe Fawcett, who was appointed by Mayor Tom Mackin and City Council
on August 1, 2023.

Joe grew up in Northwest Ohio, splitting his childhood between Perrysburg and Bowling Green, graduating from Bowling Green High School. During his junior year of high school, Joe joined the Ohio Army National Guard as an infantryman serving with Bravo Company, 1-148 Infantry Battalion. Joe attended Bowling Green State University where he was commissioned a second lieutenant as a military intelligence officer. In total, he spent nearly 15 years in the Army serving in various posts around the United States, conducting humanitarian assistance to New Orleans following Hurricane Katrina, and two tours of duty in Mosul, Iraq. 

Joe previously served as the Director of Public Services and Assistant Municipal Administrator for the City of Bowling Green, where he worked for eight years. He has also worked for the Wood County Board of Commissioners as the Assistant County Administrator and the Bowling Green Municipal Court as a Probation Officer. He has a Bachelor’s Degree and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Bowling Green State University.

Joe is a member of the International City/County Managers Association (ICMA) and has been given the Credentialed Manager-Candidate status from ICMA. He is a member of the American Legion and a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) and currently serves on the Wood County Veterans Service Commission and the Wood County Solid Waste Management District Policy Committee.

Joe and his wife, Jane, live in Perrysburg with their three children.
