Woodlands Park Playground Project to Begin Next Week

February 8, 2023

(PERRYSBURG, OH) - Work is scheduled to begin next week to take down the playground equipment at Woodlands Park. The equipment is being replaced due to its age and the difficulty of finding replacement parts to keep it operating safely.  It will be replaced with a new, inclusive playground.

Missions International of America, a 501c3 charitable organization, will be removing the playground equipment, cleaning it up, and re-installing it during one of their mission trips to a school in Haiti

The playground equipment at Municipal and Bicentennial Parks was taken down in December and will also be replaced. Construction will start in the spring as soon as weather permits. The goal is to have all three playgrounds completed by June 30.

In the meantime, families can utilize the playgrounds at Three Meadows, Rivercrest, Eisenhower and Rotary Parks.

Funding for the new playground equipment is coming from $1.3 million in ARPA (American Rescue Plan Act) funds.
