Parking Reminders

January 24, 2023

The Perrysburg Police Division has seen an uptick in parking violations and would like to remind residents about some of the rules when it comes to parking within City limits.

Please be reminded of the following:

  • Parking is prohibited in front of: Mailboxes, fire hydrants, driveways, and within 30’ of an intersection. You also cannot block sidewalks.
  • Do not park where signs indicate that parking is prohibited. Please be aware of areas that may be private, or blocked off for events.
  • Do not face your car in the wrong direction while street parking.
  • Parking is allowed on streets with curbs, except where signage prohibits it or the curbs are painted yellow.
  • If a street does not have curbs, you may park in the City right-of-way, NOT on the street. The city right-of-way is the grassy area between the sidewalk and the street (parking is not allowed in yards).  If sidewalks are not present, park close to the street without your tires touching the roadway.
  • You cannot park for more than 72 hours on any street, municipal lot, or right-of-way.

Anyone who has questions can contact the Perrysburg Police Division at 419-872-8001.

When it comes to parking during snow emergencies, the following rules apply:

  • Do not park on the street until it is cleared. Plowing around vehicles slows the plows down.
  • During a snowstorm: Residents are encouraged to use off-street parking. Parking off the streets enables snow plow crews to clear the streets more efficiently.
  • Plowing in cul-de-sacs: Please DO NOT park in a cul-de-sac during a snow event. It is illegal for the plows to drive against the regular traffic flow to clear snow in the cul-de-sac.
  • Plowing in Alleys: Alleys will be plowed as needed. Priority is given to primary streets (main streets, intersections, school zones, streets with hills and curves, secondary streets and subdivisions).
