These programs are hands-on volunteer opportunities for groups or individuals to take an active part in litter prevention and beautification of City parks and properties. Cleanup supplies and gloves are provided for the cleanups. An Adopt-A-Spot sign is placed in the park or area the group has adopted.

The Adopt-A-Spot program focuses on litter cleanup in the City parks and right-of-ways. Groups make a four-year commitment to keep a particular area clean throughout the year. There is a kickoff Spring cleanup that occurs during the Keep America Beautiful (KAB) Great American Cleanup. The group members clean their spot a minimum of four (4) times during the Summer and more if needed.

The Adopt-A-Plot program focuses on the maintenance of the downtown streetscape area. Community groups and individuals make a year-long commitment to maintain a specific tree well planting area in the two-block downtown business district. The group makes a yearly commitment to keep the area clear of debris and weeds during the growing season. This program requires weekly maintenance to keep the downtown areas clean and litter-free for the many events held downtown. Their commitment is recognized with a nameplate at their particular spot.
