Memorial Day garbage delay and parade information

City offices will be closed on Monday, May 27 for Memorial Day. Garbage, recycling, and yard waste pickup will be on a one day delay all week long. See the full collection schedule here.

The Perrysburg American Legion Post 28 will hold its annual Memorial Day Parade on Monday, May 27 at 10 a.m. 

All military veterans, color guards, bands, classic cars, businesses, scout troops, elected officials, and groups are welcome to participate in the patriotic parade. Registration is not required.

The parade will form at the corner of Louisiana Avenue and Fifth Street, beginning at 9 a.m. It is requested that walkers and floats gather on the east side of Fifth Street, near the Commodore parking lot area, and classic cars and motorized vehicles line up on the west side of Fifth Street. The parade route will consist of Louisiana Avenue from Fifth Street to Front Street. Then west on Front Street to Mulberry Street, and then to Indiana Avenue. From there, parade participants will head to Fort Meigs Cemetery.

The parade will make a stop at Hood Park on West Front Street for the placing of a wreath to honor those killed in service. A memorial service will take place at the cemetery immediately following the parade. The service will include the placing of a wreath, the reading of veteran names, and a 21-gun salute. American Legion Post 28 will memorialize veterans who have passed since Memorial Day last year.

Inflatable bounce houses will be set up in the Commodore School Yard immediately following the parade. Families may enjoy these from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
