Street Division provides many services for the residents of Perrysburg.
Spring
City garden plots are available for rent through the Department of Public Service for city residents. The spring brush collection is performed by city crews. The City Compost Site is available year round for city residents to dispose of branches, bushes, cornstalks, ornamental grasses, raked leaves and straw.
Summer
The city yard waste bag/tag program and City Compost Site are also run through the Department of Public Service. Full time and summer part time staff maintain city parks and city plantings. For weed control, vacant and residential lots are mowed by city crews. City crews spray for mosquitoes throughout the entire city. During the summer, city crews patch potholes, and street sweeping.
Fall
City crews collect leaves curbside in the fall. During times other than the annual fall curbside leaf collection, residents may use the City Compost Site for leaf and branch disposal.
Winter
During winter storms, the city crews plow city streets to maintain safe driving throughout the city. Ice skating is permitted on the small pond at Three Meadows Park.
Year round services
The City Compost Site is available year round for city residents to dispose of branches, bushes and raked leaves City refuse and recycling crews run regular weekly refuse and recycling curbside collection. Department of Public Service staff also pick up special collections for items such as white goods. Carry Out/Carry Back service is available for residents disabled or residents 65 or older.
Street trees and trees in city parks are maintained by the city crews. Trimming of city street trees is performed by city crews. In the event of severe storms, city crews, under the discretion of the Director of Public Service, collects storm damage. If there is a street light, traffic light or street sign that is in disrepair or not working, residents may report these malfunctions.
The Department of Public Service takes reservations for park shelter houses, Perrysburg Senior Center. canoe storage rack rental, city garden plots, banner permits, Schaller Memorial Building rentals and gazebo rental. Yard waste bags/tags, mattress disposal stickers, appliance disposal stickers are also available at the Department of Public Service. Only checks or cash are accepted for payments.
