Refuse and Recycling Carry Out/Carry Back Service
The current carry out/carry back refuse tags will expire March 31, 2012. We will be mailing out an application form and a tag to those residents who have used this service this past year. We ask that you fill out the application form and return it to us by mail or you may drop it off at the Department of Public Service, 11980 Roachton Road, during our office hours of 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
This service is free of charge if the members of the household are 65 years or older or disabled.
The tag must be displayed where it is visible to the refuse workers and the refuse must be at an outside ground level location, not within the right-of-way of a street or alley and easily accessible by driveway and/or sidewalk near the street or alley. Crews will not be entering backyards or fenced areas to pick up or return containers.
Refuse and recycle must be set out by 7:00 a.m. on collection day.
Carry Out/Carry Back Service Rules and Regulations
If you use garbage cans, the can may not be larger than 45 gallons and the total weight of the full can cannot be over 65 pounds.
- Have your refuse set out by 7:00 a.m. on collection day.
- All carry back containers shall be easily accessible at ground level, not within the right-of-way of a street or alley and easily accessible by driveway and/or sidewalk near the street or alley. City crews will not enter garages, backyards or fenced areas to pick up or return containers.
- If you would like to recycle, indicate that on your application form and city crews will deliver a curbside recycling bin for your use.
- Mattresses must a have disposal sticker before it can be collected. Purchase the disposal sticker at the Department of Public Service at 11980 Roachton Road. A mattress disposal sticker is $11.55 with no charge for the box springs.
- Yard waste (branches, shrubs and leaves) are not picked up by the city refuse crews. Residents must use the official City of Perrysburg yard waste bags or tags. The bundled brush or yard waste bags must be at the curb by 7:00am on you regular collection day during the months of April through November. During the months of December through March, residents must call the Department of Public Service to be placed on the Wednesday collection day list.
