Thermostats and Mercury thermometers
Non-digital thermometers that contain mercury and older furnace thermostats contain mercury. Mercury is a heavy toxic metal and is life threatening to animals and humans.

The annual Recycle Roundup is held in the spring. Mercury thermometer exchange is held at this event. Safe disposal for mercury is available year round through:

Television recycling 
Best Buy will remove an old or obsolete television at no charge from the consumer's home when a new product is purchased and is being delivered to the home by Best Buy Home Delivery or installed by Geek Squad.

If broken, try to have it repaired at a local repair shop .If not working, it can be recycled at the annual Recycle Roundup held in the spring. 


Varnish
Do not place in regular refuse collection. This Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) can be safely disposed of at the annual Recycle Roundup held each spring.

Wrapping Paper

Wrapping paper can be recycled curbside with newspapers, magazines, catalogs and junk mail. Place wrapping paper in paper bags. Ribbons, bows or metal wrapping paper can not be recycled but can be reused..

Yard Waste
State law prohibits disposal of yard waste in landfills.

City ordinances prohibit the dumping of yard waste, tree branches and limbs on creek banks, city property and property that you do not own. Perrysburg city residents have various options for yard waste.

Residents may start a backyard compost bin.

City residents may utilize the CIty Yard Waste Program. Yard waste must be placed at the curb, not alley for collection.

An official city yard waste bag or tag costs $2.25 each. This covers the direct cost of collection and disposal. Each city yard waste bag has collection information printed on the bag.

Yard waste collection is the same day as garbage from April 1 through November 30. During the non-growing season of December  1 through March 31, yard waste is collected on Wednesdays only. To be added to the week's collection, contact Perrysburg Street Division at 419-872-8020 by Tuesday of the week you need collection.
