CodeRed
The City of Perrysburg has contracted with Emergency Communications Network, Inc., of Ormond Beach, Florida, for its "CodeRED" high-speed telephone emergency notification services. The CodeRED system gives city officials the ability to deliver pre-recorded emergency telephone notification/information messages to targeted areas or the entire city at a rate of up to 60,000 calls per hour.
This system is only as good as the telephone database supporting it. If a citizen’s phone number is not in the database, they can not be called. The CodeRED system gives individuals and businesses the ability to add their own phone numbers directly to the system's telephone database.
To ensure no one is omitted, resident’s and businesses located in the City are urged to follow the link to the "CodeRED Residential and Business Data Collection" page. Advise those without Internet access they may call Diane Bishop the Police Division Secretary at (419) 872-8000, Monday through Friday, nine o’clock AM till one o’clock PM (9AM-1P) to give their information over the phone. Required information includes first and last name, street address (physical address, no P.O. boxes), city, state, zip code, and primary phone number, additional phone numbers (optional).
No one should automatically assume his or her phone number is included. All businesses should register, as well as all residents who have unlisted phone numbers, those who have changed their phone number or address within the last year, and those who use a cellular phone as their primary home phone.
The CodeRED system is a geographically based notification system, which means street addresses are needed to select which phone numbers will receive emergency notification calls in any given situation. The system works for cell phones too, but we have to have a street address. People who have recently moved but kept the same listed or unlisted phone number also need to change their address in the database.
CodeRED gives those who want to be included an easy and secure method for doing so. The information will only be used for emergency notification purposes. Questions should be directed to the Perrysburg Police Division (419)872-8001. Anyone that does not wish to receive a CodeRed alert can opt out by downloading and mailing the attached form to:

D.A.R.E. Program
In January 1991 the Perrysburg Police Division under the authority of then-chief Robert Stienline brought the D.A.R.E. program to the Perrysburg City Schools. The first D.A.R.E. officer and former Chief of Police Nelson Evans first incorporated the program as an academic class in the five elementary schools.
The D.A.R.E. Program was initially started in California as a 17-week program. During that time students not only learn about dangerous drugs but also how to deal with the pressures to use drugs and ways to say no. Over the years DARE has changed to a 10 week program and has also incorporated lessons on gangs and violence.
RUOK? Program
The R-U-OK program is offered by the Perrysburg Police Division free of charge. This is a computer generated phone call to check on any resident once per day. The time of the phone call is determined by you. If you don't answer your phone within a short period of time the computer contacts the police dispatcher and we send an officer out to check on the resident.
If you are interested please fill out the online form. If you have any questions please call 419-872-8001.
