 PROGRESS AT ROTARY COMMUNITY PARK

In the fall of 2009, Perrysburg celebrated its 25th anniversary  as a Tree City, USA. Perrysburg Rotary Club spearheaded a tree planting program for Rotary Community Park. On Public Lands Day 2009, tree donors and members of Perrysburg Rotary Club planted 58 native species as the start of a mini-arboretum at the newest city park. Parking lots were also installed in the fall of 2009 .

In the fall of 2010, a rain garden was installed at the Fort Meigs entrance. Grant funding from Wal-Mart was received for the constuction of the rain garden. Additional trees were planted in the parking lot islands and  street trees were planted along Fort Meigs Road.

In the spring and summer of 2011, the permanent park sign was installed by the Penta County Trades class.  The crushed stone .7 mile walking path was constructed along the perimeter of the park. The path may be accessed from the parking lot off Fort Meigs Road or adjacent to the Fort Meigs YMCA.
