CSX Railroad Crossing Supplemental Safety Measures

Pursuant to an agreement between CSX Railroad, the Ohio Rail Development Commission, the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio and the City of Perrysburg, a project to install new warning gates and lights at the CSX crossing on Walnut, Locust and Elm Streets will be completed during the spring of 2010.  The CSX crossings at Pine, Cherry and Hickory Streets will be permanently closed within sixty (60) days of the installation of the new lights and gates at the other crossings.

MISSION STATEMENT:
To provide the highest quality of service while facilitating the orderly development and strategic and efficient use of land; encouraging flexibility in design and choices that meet the diverse needs of the community; maintaining the integrity of and encouraging appreciation of our historical heritage and cultural resources; and supporting a sustainable local economy.

The City of Perrysburg is committed to economic development for the City. We understand that continued commercial and industiral development is essential to our continuing to be a sustainable community. To achieve this continuing sustainablility we have a number of structures in place to foster and encourage economic growth. These include:

  • Revolving Loan Fund
  • Community Reinvestment Area
  • Enterprise Zone
  • Job Creation Program Grant
  • Downtown Improvement Program Grant (Program suspended for the balance of 2008 and 2009)
  • Planned Industrial and Commercial Areas
  • Perrysburg Main Street, Inc.

Our commitment to economic development balances the community quality of life with the need to maintain our high level of service delivery.

 2010 Objectives
 General:

1.    Provide professional friendly and timely customer service.
 
2.    Provide support to Planning Commission, Board of Zoning Appeals, Historic Landmarks Commission, City Council's Planning and Zoning and Economic Development Committees, various Architectural Review Committees, CREADT, the Perrysburg Area Chamber of Commerce, Perrysburg Main Street, Inc., Mayor's Ad Hoc Water Committee and City Street Tree Commission.
 
3.    Assure that memberships to all Boards, Commissions and Committees are current and complete.
 
4.    Complete the upgrade of the computerization functions.
 
5.    Manage the 2010 Sidewalk Repair Program.
 
6.    Update and distribute 2010 City map.
 
7.    Complete and administer the Ohio Coastal Management Grant.
 
8.    Within budget constraints, evaluate organizational capacity and re-configuration and provide for succession plan.
 
Planning and Zoning:
9.    Administer a land use plan that encourages orderly development and the strategic and efficient use of land that maintains existing community character and promotes quality growth.
 
10.Administer the City's Planning and Zoning Code and Building and House Code of the Codified Ordinances.
 
11.Address the efficient functionality of the local transportation network in a manner that balances overall mobility and access management integrity.
 
12.Consider the strategic extension of utility infrastructure needs.
 
13.Continue to facilitate the City'S 5-year Annexation Policy and Program.
 
14.Represent Mayor and City on TMACOG's Planning Subcommittee.
 
15.Complete the update of the Historic District Guidelines, Map and Inventory.
 
16.Facilitate and coordinate 2010 U.S. Census Program.
 
Economic Development:
17.Capitalize on Perrysburg's competitive advantage and continue to support job creation and retention within the community.
 
18.Provide a leadership role in the initiative: NEXTECONOMY – focusing economic opportunities on “development-ready” sites in a planned and coordinated, strategic approach.
 
19.Focus development opportunities on the SR25 Employment Corridor in a planned and coordinated manner.
 
20.Coordinate all economic development activities, the preparation of various grant applications and the administration of ongoing grant programs. Programs to include: Revolving Loan Fund; Enterprise Zone; Community Reinvestment Areas; and Job Creation Program.
 
21.Maintain statutory compliance with all Federal, State and County incentive programs as required.
 
22.Coordinate a follow-up Economic Development reception event.
 

23.Establish and implement a City-wide on-going Business Visitation Program including Mayor, City Administrator and Members of City Council.
